The list of all active railway jobs is available on this page. Indian Railways operates 71 divisions under 17 zones throughout the country. In 2010, the 17th zone was established as a separate zone. Divisional Railway Managers oversee each division (DRM).

There are four types of group level jobs. They are Group A and Group B (Gazetted) and Group C and D (Non-gazetted).
There will be both technical and non-technical cadre in each of these groupings.
1. Group A Posts Recruitment: Written exams, interviews, and group discussions are conducted by UPSC as needed to fill open positions in this category.
This category includes the following exams: the Combined Medical Service Examination, the Engineering Service Exam, and the Civil Service Exam.

c. Personnel Service of Indian Railways
d. RPF, or the Railway Protection Force
The following services are accessible through the Combined Engineering Services Exam.

2. Recruitment for Group B Posts: No one is directly hired for Group B posts. Officers in Group B are promoted from Group C staff.
3. Recruitment for Group C Posts: Nineteen Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) in all Indian Railway zones handle the recruitment of candidates for Group C posts, both technical and non-technical.
Non-Technical Posts: Assistant Station Masters, Train Clerks, Clerks, Ticket Collectors, Commercial Apprentices, Traffic Apprentices, and other positions are examples of non-technical positions.
Technical Posts: Signal, Telecommunication, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and other technical engineers are available.
Recruitment for Group D Posts: At the divisional level, the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) handles recruitment for Group D posts. The Gunman, Safaiwala, Trackman, Peon, Tracker, and other posts are among those in this group.
